Marin humanitarians hoof it for the hungry in San Rafael

Ruby Trainor, ten walked down 4th Street in middle of the city San Rafael on Sun hoisting that person homemade “Fill Empty Fridges” sign.

The San Anselmo resident was participating in the twentieth annual Marin Crop Hunger Walk. About 125 people showed up for the charity event, which was founded nationally about fourty years ago and is observed all over the country on different dates.

The name Crop comes from the project’s former acronym for Christian Rural Overseas Program.

“Last year we were 129th out of 1 000 raising $20,000,” Purdy said.
